More info on HTC's Touch HD has leaked into the net: seems like HTC will make its new top of the notch phone tri-band.
Full specs are:
Bad news for those, who live in the US, for it's said that HD will support such networks as GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, UMTS900, UMTS2100.
Oops! No AT&T's GSM bands in the list. More than that - phone will have only dual HSDPA support (according to preliminary data), which means there's no place for 3G bands for US subscribers.
It will, of course, make its way to the US market, but not for Christmas for sure, if these specs are accurate...
And more than that, Touch HD will support only QVGA video capture. Not that bad, but... If you make it the best, HTC, what the heck?!
It's perfect! Except for the fact that it will be running the ancient Windows Mobile 6.1. HTC can make something cool of the homescreen but when you want to write a text, you'll be thrown into the past to the ancient and very ugly Windows Mobile user interface.
I'll buy this only with a user interface that actually works.
Let them release it with tri-band only, when they can't sell any in the US maybe they'll learn.
Maybe they want to see how sales go in Europe.
Although, it's still an arguable decision.
Why the hell not have a US version; I've got to imagine they would get monster sales gives US demand for consumer electronics. So stupid.
YIKES, why is there ZERO love for us users on T-Mobile USA! I know we are not as big AT&T.
But show us Tmobile USA users some love! AT&T already has the iPhone! We get the G1 but that is unproven.
I so want the HTC Touch HD...Errr...add 1700!
They just want to let apple play nice in USA.
That's all i think.
"Reasonnable reason"
If it comes to US Market with AT&T, I hope they also find a way to add it to T-Mobile. I am with Verizon right now, but I rather use T-Mobile than AT&T
RE: Eric 13.09.2008
At least text editors in the Windows Mobile come with cut and paste out of the box, unlike the iPhone(from what I hear).
Personally, I want a HD Pro version. But, I do not want to wait another year. My current Sprint (USA) contract is up in 3 months. If they wait too long I will probably go iPhone.
I am intrested to buy This HTC HD
Whare i will get in india and how to get and what is the cost if it.

We've seen this pattern before so no reason to get excited. Better if phone is released and tested outside US for 4 - 6 months or so. When it is adapted for US carriers will be more stable. If its 6 months out, so be it. They also want to let the Diamond get some traction before releasing this here. Note to Verizon - i wanted the Diamond but i'm waiting for the HD now. the sooner you bring it out the happier I'll be and the more likely to stay with verizon.
Sorry to break it to you Willy, but the HTC HD is not coming to the US. HTC wrote this on their official Twitter account.
Stopped at a Verizon store today. They're not bringing in any more XV 6900 (HTC Touch). This indicates they're ready for the next generation. They will shortly offer the Blackberry Storm but for those of us who want/need Windows Mobile we'll hold. To the naysayers, it doesn't matter what they call it. The key is the iPhone redefined the market as a 3.5" or so large touch screen - basically a pocket PC. Physical keys are expensive. A few design cycles down the road, ie 4 to 6 months from now, and either the HTC HD or a competitive equivalent from one manufacturer or another will garner major market share. The carriers and manufacturers should all know this. They also know the importance of getting it out first. Those of us who've been watching know what we want. We'll wait till its offered.
its available to be shipped worldwide through this site for $1099.
I just received mine from them 2 weeks ago. Great phone. Amazing screen
