HTC Touch HD approved in Europe

Latest rumors: HTC Touch HD (codename BLAC100 or Blackstone) will firstly appear in Europe. Still, phone does not support AT&T's 3G, but the rumor is, new BLAC200 will have support for these frequences.

Where's the proof of the new BLAC200? last time i sat in an HTC conf call (SHOCKER!) there was no plan for US 3G... as long as the phone uses Qualcomm celluar chips due to patent infringe with Broadcom's wireless radio implementation. and there is no plan to drop qualcomm for another chip supplier.

As the first comment says, the FCC is part of the US government, and has nothing at all to do with approving devices for Europe.

And the Broadcom suit doesn't prevent Qualcomm from producing chipsets that operate on US 3G frequencies. Qualcomm continues to manufacture and sell chipsets with US 3G frequencies.

FCC approved the European version of the HD for the purpose of certifying that Europeans that travel to US will be able to get some sort of service here. An official US version of the HTC Blackstone it's not announced yet.
(Hopefully not with AT&T)

The qualcomm issue was feared to prevent compatibility in the US with the kaiser but in the end it was no issue as I bought a kaiser in the UK and used it in the US.

Clove Technology indicates that the Blac100 due to be released this month or next will work on U.S. 3G network. I quote: "The HTC Touch HD is due to arrive in November.

We expect it to work on the US 3G network."

i hope the htc hd will be available on sprint because i would hate to have to switch phone companies......but it should because its counter parts the htc touch diamond and htc touch pro are both available on sprint

I hope this htc hd 2 phone comes out with verizon wireless it the best company I just hope that a defrent company dont get this phone verizon 3G network works better
