HTC Touch HD (Blackstone) pricing and avialability

11.09.2008 | HTC Touch HD (Blackstone) rumors

HTC Touch HD (Blackstone) pricing and costSources we cannot mention here informed us that HTC Touch HD (Blackstone) will probably be available in the US at the end of december, on the eve of Christmas holidays.

We were also told, that HTC will firstly ship HD's for AT&T only. MArket price will be $1100 to $1200 (and much less, if you subscribe for a long period of time at AT&T, around $200-300).

3D interface will be slightly improved and software package will be almost similar to what can be found in HTC Touch Diamond today.

"This baby is going to be a hit ", - they say, - " we have seen an engineering sample and let us say: iPhone, beware! Comfort and looks of iPhone with flexibility of Windows Mobile? You bet!"

Let's just hope it becomes everything we expect from another great HTC's product.

$1100 ?!?!?
When considering the two phones side by side...same size, both full touch screens...more people are going to leave ATT stores with a a $199 iPhone than this...

I hope that part is wrong.

$1100 is a Buy-and-go price (market price). With AT&T contract it might be $200-300.

An $800 subsidy? No F'ing way. If they truly think the phone will sell for $1100, the phone would be $750 or $800 with subsidy. They'll eat a couple hundred dollars, but not much more unless they force you to get the "everything we can bill you" for plan.

If it's anywhere near that high, count me out.

Fake...

Dr. Z

12.09.2008

Definitely fake. Not sure what they're trying to do here - but I assure you S-E is not happy watching the thunder being stolen from the Xperia X1.

If this is NOT a fake, then HTC is basically stabbing S-E in the back, they build the X1 for S-E, then introduce a phone that would render it obsolete 3 months after its launch.

Crazy.

Sounds to me, HTC is going to start a war. 800x640, exactly what we're getting ftom Xperia... And even more? Wow.

14.09.2008

yes, but S-E are using HTC to BUILD and GIVE them a hi spec phone with all THEIR [HTC] knowledge of WM6/.1, in essence S-E are using HTC to piggy back onto the WM scene, as all their devices up until now have been Symbian.

Maybe it's a bit over the edge. $1000. Is this real?

The iphone 16 GB costs more than 1000 usd including the contract price. It's possible to buy the iphone in europe with a contract for 2 dollar, it's a missleading price.

I would gladly pay 1100 usd for this without a contract. The iphone is awesome, but not very flexible, it feels like too many people has one, 2 mp camera, can't share the internet, too much control on software, and if its jailbreaked its hard to update, can't download from internet, can't get java for internet, no copy and paste, no memory card, HTC touch HD will have twice as many pixels = great for surfing/GPS/video/pictures..

I want to buy the HTC Touch HD from Amazon in Germany which is taking orders now. If I get it
will it work here in the USA if I sign up wit At&T which offers 3g Frequences or will the be useless. Would GPS and internet work on this HTC Touch HD Phone from Germany?
Can anybody answer this question with hard facts.
Thank you

Dr. Z

26.09.2008

Same question but for T-mobile... If I purchased the one that comes out in Germany, will it work on T-mobile? I realize it will not be 3G, but will it still work on my data plan (albeit at slower speeds)?

Also, is the one coming out in Germany in German only? or can we select English as the device language?

Thanks!

I REALLY Hope this rumor to be wrong, I been waiting on a device that will be a true iPhone competitor (but with different network), I defeneatly won't switch to AT&T. I considered iphone for a while but AT&T scared me away, I been waiting patiently and now I discovered HTC's touch HD, the closest thing to perfection in the technological world, but if AT&T it's the only one that it's getting it, Forget It. I think I will go to my provider and get any other phone as soon as I confirmed if this rumor is true.

HTC website now includes a "Where to buy" link with sites which will sell the HTC Touch HD. Pricing details are included.

It seems that while the HTC Touch Pro costs 700 Euros in Belgium for example, the HTC Touch HD is priced even less at 650 Euros! This is without any network-subscriptions.

At such a price, HTC is sure to score big time.

I SAW THIS FROM THE PHONEGOGG WEBSITE:

Posted on Monday, September 29, 2008
by Noah Kravitz, Senior Editor, Consumer Products and Services

"I'm publishing this one as much because I want it to happen as anything else. I got it from two unrelated sources late last week that T-Mobile is prepping a version of HTC's Touch HD as their next Android phone. One of the sources was the ever talkative Anonymous Tipster, but the other one was somebody with a decent track record when it comes to accurately leaking info on upcoming handset releases. Neither of them are inside the folds of HTC or T-Mo, and no I haven't signed an NDA I'm trying to get around here.

Personally, I'd love to see a T-Mo branded (and subsidized) Touch HD running Android on the carrier's lovely new 3G network here in the U.S. Touch HD would give T-mo two things I think it needs: A flashy Android phone, and a tricked-out, high-end iPhone competitor."

Treat this as rumor and nothing more at this point, but if anything more comes of this one I'll be sure to let you know. I promise.

IF THIS IS TRUE THEN, GREAT. PERSONALLY, IF MOBILE T.V. IS NOT GOING TO BE AVAILABLE AND YOU ALREADY HAVE THE IPHONE 3G, THEN REALLY WHAT'S THE POINT OF BUYING THIS? FOR A SLIGHTLY LARGER DISPLAY? IF IT GOES TO AT&T, THEN PLEEEEAAAASSSSE UTILIZE THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE 'LARGE' SCREEN AND MAKE IT ABLE TO PLAY MOBILE T.V.! PLEEEAAASSSEEE! STOP BE JACKASSES!!

Step it up SPRINT or i'm leaving!

I can only say this, for people who are smart and love tweaking out their phones or who supports HTC this is awesome if its only for at&t. the IPHONE is just too over rated and too much hype when it came out still a useless phone there are so many things that you can do with these HTC phones nothin compares even that stupid IPHONE...let me know if anyone can open their car by using an IPHONE...HTC can by the way....

Recently I have been doing some research on HTC phones, all of them europe versions and US versions (Diamond 2 Touch Pro 2) I've see that, the smaller the better, I mean in HTC phones itself not comparing it with any other phones

I have seen the comparison between Diamond 2 and Touch HD where the internet and picture quality were little bit clumsy in HD and goods and bads for the phones. If any one would want to buy a HTC, then better go for the smaller versions when you are getting them thru US carriers for some discounted price wat say?? and have fun being a HTC lover and when the big boy comes into the US market we can have funny BUT here there is a clause.

How come AT&T will only get this phone when they have a so called killer IPhone which looks totally stupid to me... I prefer the 10 dollars Nokia 8k series to I phone. Being one of the big leaders in the phone manufacturers now the (*)phone guys would surely face competitors into US, if not US but may oppose the growing competition globally. If ATT could get Iphone with 200 dollars flat rate w/contract I guess It will also get the big boy (Touch HD) little bit expensive but may not sell the europe version with lotta features and as well just the phone with a regular MSRP(contract free) when they invest lots money and time to get it custom made for ATT, it needs to have the business as well as the money flow in...

So Guys keep ur fingers crossed until december and get urselves a christmas present from HTC if its out no matter whats the stake at tht time..I love HTC HD and I would spend that 1000 dollars rite away if its worth spending because till date I have never seen the phone...if its in US may be I am one of the maniac;s to get it into hands and haffun and by the way if you come out with such tips in mere future let me know about touch Diamond 2 because its becoming the worlds popular phone rite now!

Till then
tc guys.
